Patricia Manterola is announced as the new host for La Voz Kids

Telemundo’s La Voz Kids [The Voice Kids] is returning for its fourth season, this time with a new lady in the host’s spotlight.

Mexican singer and actress, Patricia Manterola was announced as the new host, alongside Jorge Bernal, who had served as guide of the show with Daisy Fuentes for the past three seasons.

“There was an audition, and I was told about it and was so happy about the project, which seems spectacular to me,” said Manterola, who began her entertainment career as a child actress, while living in Mexico. “This show has a lot to do with what my life currently is; music and children, since I’m now a mom also.”

La Voz Kids, which will be coming this spring to channel 41, will have Daddy Yankee, Natalia Jimenez and Pedro Fernandez as the judges in charge of guiding the young contestants through their musical and vocal journey.

“You start seeing these stories and you feel so identified,” said Manterola. “I put myself in their shoes, remembering what I felt as a child when I was given the opportunity to enter a competition and for example, Daddy Yankee and Natalia Jimenez – I saw their careers flourish and its so fabulous to see them now as major artists and coaches of La Voz.”

Bernal, jokingly expressed his worry about all the musical talent he will see this season on the show.

“I’m worried, because Pedro Fernandez sings, Natalia sings, Daddy Yankee sings, Patricia sings, so I’ve decided I’ll be dropping an album next year,” he said.

After sharing the stage with Daisy Fuentes for three consecutive seasons, Bernal feels the same excitement now that he will be working with Manterola.

“I get to share the stage with another beautiful and talented woman like Patricia Manterola, and I’m seriously feeling the same things as in the first season,” he said. “I feel the butterflies and the anxiety and the nerves and I’m just really, truly excited.”

The duo, wore black and white outfits, unintentionally and confessed that they would also be doing that during the season, since they will both be dressed by the same stylist – Bernal’s wife, Karla Bernal.

They spoke about their comfort and chemistry on stage, and both agreed that the production of the show is done to cater fully and completely to the children.

“I remember when I was a kid and I would tell my mom, ‘Mom, I love to sing,’ Manterola said. “When there were festivals at my school, I was always the first to volunteer for dress-up and for doing acting presentations, so when you already know at such a young age that, that is what you like and want to pursue, it’s such a big deal that you are given the opportunity to be on La Voz Kids. I am so happy to be part of a project that changes lives.”
