Reggaeton Megastar, Daddy Yankee Makes His Estate In Puerto Rico Available On Airbnb

Daddy Yankee is a pioneer in more than just reggaeton. El Cangri opened yet another Pandora’s box of inspiration for other artists, by making his house in Puerto Rico available to the public on Airbnb, making him the first Latin artist to open the doors of his house to anyone looking for a Puerto Rican culture and music-filled getaway in Puerto Rico.

During three individual one-night stays for up to two guests, occurring on December 13, 15 and 17, guests will be able to look into the world of one of reggaeton’s most important and iconic artists, who within that house, wrote some of the biggest chart-toppers of the last two decades. There’s no denying the warm Puerto Rican weather is also a tease.

“A love for music and for Puerto Rico runs in my blood,” said Daddy Yankee. “By hosting these stays, I want to share la cultura de mi gente, [my people’s culture] our pride and our flavor – and demonstrate how easy it can be to invite others into your world, with el calor [the warmth] that completes it.”

The price to stay at Daddy Yankee’s home? Just $85 a night, in celebration of his more than 85 chart-topping singles. Daddy Yankee will virtually greet guests upon arrival; and during their stay, guests will get to experience all the things that he loves about his home in Luquillo. They’ll see where Yankee spends his downtime, and best of all, they’ll have the views of El Yunque National Forest to lust on.

“My mountain home in Luquillo, Puerto Rico, reminds me of all the things I love about this beautiful island and its people. During your stay, I encourage you to explore the rich heritage and history of the area, where the culture and weather are equally hot. As your Host, we’ve taken special care to customize the space to reflect Reggaetón aesthetic and the vibrance of this town,” Yankee writes to fans looking to book, on the post description in Airbnb listed as, “Daddy Yankee Lists Puerto Rican Reggaeton Retreat.”

Guests will have access to Yankee’s private memorabilia, including his vast awards collection, a “locals only” guide with Daddy Yankee’s recommended local restaurants and bars, and other spots to visit nearby, as well as a specially curated playlist of Daddy Yankee’s all-time favorite songs.

The house, which is covered in vibrant and contemporary decor by local designer Fernando Rodriguez, is inspired by Puerto Rican culture and some of the musician’s biggest hits like “Gasolina,” “Con Calma,” and “Dura.”

Other activities available within Yankee’s home are the swimming pool outdoors, dominos games in the pool house and diving into a few games of pool while watching music videos in the activities room. The retreat also has a private volleyball open for guests to play.

To honor the Puerto Rican community, Airbnb will make a one-time donation to PRoTechos, an organization that rebuilds roofs and provides carpentry training in underserved Puerto Rican communities that are still undergoing infrastructure work as a result of the damage caused by Hurricane Irma, Maria, and subsequent disasters.

All guests are also required to present a negative covid result during the registration. Personnel on-location will follow norms from the CDC as well as security measures imposed by Airbnb such as wearing masks, practicing safe social distancing and abiding by the 5-step process of cleanliness and hygiene. Guests are responsible for their own tickets to and from Puerto Rico as well as for abiding by local protocols imposed in the island.

Booking opens at 1 pm EST on Dec. 6
