Juanes celebrated his cover of Ocean Drive Magazine’s April issue last night at French 27, in Miami Beach, along his wife, Karen Martinez and friends.
“I like to be in the mood to do something like this, and I really respect Ocean Drive. I studied industrial design so I appreciate all these things.”
Though it has been two years since the release of his last album, Loco de Amor, the Colombian singer feels he has a lot to celebrate for, including the time spent in Miami and his major career milestones, such as recently playing on stage with the Rolling Stones during their concert in Colombia.
“I came to this city 15 years ago and I didn’t speak any words of English and for me to be on the cover of Ocean Drive for the second time – this is such an honor – and it makes me feel part of this community,” Juanes said.
He didn’t give many details about his newest album; however, Juanes hopes to have it released by the end of this year.
“I am very excited about it. I’m working so hard and doing something very special for the audience,” said the two-time Grammy award and 21-time Latin Grammy award winner.
Wife, Karen Martinez, who has accompanied the singer for a large part of his career, feels proud of all he has accomplished.
“We love Miami. We had our kids here and we have our life here, and I’m so proud of him,” said Martinez who has three kids with Juanes: Paloma, Luna and Dante. ”This is the second time [he’s on the cover of Ocean Drive], and I loved the pictures they picked and the look he has. Everything he does, I’m there, happy that he’s well and happy and that he can share so many moments with his fans.”
