Mara Hoffman speaks on her recent collection inspired by Marrakech

Within an intense ramble of people crowded around the beautiful sculpture-like models, Mara Hoffman walked and answered questions about her new collection, which she displayed at Casa Casuarina – locally known as the Versace Mansion – located on Ocean Drive in Miami Beach.

The designer, known for her bohemian style, looked like an angel herself with long golden locks of hair flowing down a long white maxi dress with a low cut v-neck and a matching bandeau under. Nude platform pumps accompanied the outfit.

Exhausted yet excited, Hoffman stood in front of her masterpiece and posed for a picture. Then, she proceeded to answer my questions:

Tell me about this collection

Inspired by a recent trip to Marrakech, and I wanted to bring a 1970s Marrakech vibe to Miami

Tell me about the fragments that you have displayed place-by-place

It’s different vignettes dictated by the prints and the stories between each sort of print are embellishments.

Do you have anything ready for the next collection, is it anything similar?

I’m working on spring ready-to-wear for New York and it’s definitely not. It’s different.
